Laboratory Services

The laboratory department at Springhill Medical Center offers an extensive menu of tests to aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.  Our inpatient and outpatient services are provided by board-certified physician pathologists, medical technologists, technicians and laboratory assistants.  The laboratory test directory can be accessed by clicking on the first letter of the test desired or by entering a test name in the search field in the box above.

Accreditations & Certifications

The laboratory is currently accredited or certified by:

• College of American Pathologists (CAP)
• Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
• Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
• Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA)
• American Association of Blood Banks (AABB)

Scheduling

The laboratory, located on the first floor of the Springhill Medical Center Hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  You will need to stop by the Admitting/Patient Registration office on the first floor before proceeding to the lab.

For a physician's office, if your patient needs to have blood collected, you may fax the patient's orders to the Orders Fax Line at (251) 460-5298.  If you need to add an additional test to a blood sample already in the lab, please call (251) 460-5380 and fax the orders to the Lab Fax Line at (251) 460-5351.
