The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) do not recommend IgM antibody testing for the diagnosis of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV).  As a result, ARUP Laboratories has discontinued Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) IgM antibody testing.
