Ordering Recommendations
The urine free light chain test consists of measurements of the kappa and lambda light chains and calculation of the kappa / lambda free light chain ratio. This test is ordered when there is a suspicion of smoldering or active multiple myeloma, MGUS, plasmacytoma or amyloidosis.
