Avera Sacred Heart’s Clinical Laboratory Department is a full service laboratory and provides 24-hour services to hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.

The Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Laboratory is licensed through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA)and is part of the Avera Laboratory Network (ALN), which provides reference laboratory testing in a five-state region. Along with meeting CLIA standards, Avera Sacred Heart Hospital Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
