Refrigerate. Freeze if greater than a 24 hour delay in testing.
This test is only a screening method. Any presumptive positive result will have confirmatory testing ordered and forwarded to ARUP for analysis. This testing is designed to be used for medical reasons, NOT for legal reasons. No established chain of custody exists for these specimens.
Rapid screens have lower sensitivity (may not detect low levels) and are more prone to interferences and cross reactivity. Screen results that do not match what you expect (Pos or Neg) should be followed up with confirmation testing.
