Fresh samples are acceptable at room temperature for up to 2 hours, refrigerated for up to 72 hours and frozen for up to 90 days.
Samples in 10% formalin, Sodium Acetate Formalin or Cary Blair transport media are acceptable refrigerated for up to 72 hours and frozen for up to 90 days.
Unacceptable Conditions
Specimens treated with PVA fixatives are not acceptable.
