Blood: Collect whole blood in a purple top (EDTA) tube.
Fresh or Frozen Tumor Tissue – 0.5cm3 of tissue is needed. Please indicate percentage tumor nuclei in sample on Page 1 in the Sample Information section of the cancer genomic test requisition form accessed here: https://media.chop.edu/data/files/pdfs/cancer-test-request-form.pdf. Please also include a pathology report.
Formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue: block of five 20-um scrolls that are freshly cut before shipping to us via overnight delivery. It would be best to cut and ship Monday to be delivered to us on Tuesday. Please note: Unlike the other specimens in which isolated RNA is extracted, only Total Nucleic Acid (DNA and RNA) is extracted from FFPE tissue.
Unacceptable Conditions
Heparinized specimens, severely hemolyzed specimens, frozen, clotted or possibly commingled specimens, blood in non-sterile or leaky containers, mislabeled or inappropriately labeled specimens.
