Ordering Recommendations

MEDTOX screen DRUGM should not be used on pediatric patients <13 years old unless an immediate result is needed for clinical treatment.
For patients >12 months and <13 years, DRUGU should be ordered and sent to the Central Lab.
Preferred test for children ≤12 months old is PDQMS performed at the Central Lab (beginning March 6, 2019).
If MEDTOX screen is performed on a patient <13 years old because of clinical need, positive results will reflexively order confirmatory test DCONMS. Send to Central Lab.
