Patient Preparation

Avoid contaminating stool sample with water or urine and avoid mixing toilet paper or soap with the specimen

Collect

1 mL - 5 mL unpreserved, unformed stool in a clean container.

or
Unformed stool in Cary-Blair media (or modified Cary-Blair), filled to the line.
Fill as exactly as possible to indicated line.
